Marshall JMP "Slightly Hot Rodded" Full Pack

High Gain Marshall Tones? Look no further.

The Slightly Technical ToneX amplifier captures are tone models of amps that are unique in many ways. Some are from my personal collection, while others belong to my friends or clients. All the amplifiers have been modified or tweaked by me to achieve unique tonal qualities. These tone models are direct input (DI) captures of amps and are intended to be used with various IRs. The profiles available are just examples of how the tone can be designed, but I strongly advise exploring the raw Tone Models and designing your own unique presets.

This is a collection of presets that are snapshots of my personal 1976 Marshall JMP Superlead with extensive and unique modifications. This amp features two essential modes of operation – 1959 and 2203 – making it possibly the only amplifier in the world capable of delivering both sounds immaculately. The modifications are done the right way: each mode operates true to its original circuit, with all non-essential circuits from the other mode being fully hard-bypassed.

The “SHR” in the name stands for “Slightly Hot Rodded” which could be categorized as a “third” channel or mode of operation of this amplifier. It features many of my favourite high gain mods that are available on this particular amplifier

The Tone Models in this collection are my favorite snapshots of the amplifier operating in SHR mode – the so-called Master Volume JMP Marshall, with many different gain and voltage mods applied to it. This amp has a unique sound due to a custom-designed power transformer and an exquisite wiring technique.

At the time of creating these models, the amp was equipped with 3x 12AX7 NOS Ei Yugoslavia preamp tubes and 4x JJ EL34 II power tubes.

This collection includes 9 different Tone Models, used throughout 11 custom Profiles which represent snapshots of the amplifier at various settings. It also includes 2 custom IR mixes of my preferred speaker cabinets. The Tone Models were created with different gain and equalizer settings to provide a wide palette of options that work well with various guitars and speaker cabinets.

My preferred way of using these sounds is with minimal EQ adjustments within the ToneX application. Start by testing the different snapshots to find the one that suits your guitar and speaker combination best, and then make EQ corrections if needed. This approach aligns with how ToneX works – these are essentially snapshots of the amplifier at specific settings, as the application does not model the amplifier's behavior across different settings.

The Full Pack includes 11 presets crafted from 9 distinct tone models, offering a wide range of sounds from pristine cleans to rich, fuzzy tones. It features iconic crunchy Marshall tones, along with amp models enhanced by my favorite overdrive pedals for added compression and tone shaping.
