The Slightly Technical ToneX captures are tone models of gear from my personal collection. These amplifiers and pedals are not commercially available and are either original designs, designs inspired by famous units, or uniquely modified pieces of equipment. Each piece of gear was crafted with carefully selected components, meticulously measured, and calibrated to achieve the desired tonal qualities.
The Wailer Overdrive is my very early take on a Tube Screamer circuit. We all know that Tube Screamers are mythical pedals and that nothing quite matches the originals… I don’t know. To me, this one sounds the best. It features an early version of the IC from the '70s, giving it a slightly darker and lower-gain sound. In addition, it has a FET input stage and a slightly tweaked tone section. This is my go-to Screamer pedal, and it sounds phenomenal in every scenario.
This collection includes six different Tone Models. This is a fairly simple pedal that doesn’t do much, but what it does, it does best. The Tone Models cover a wide range of both the Gain and Tone controls, providing virtually all the sounds you’d want from this pedal. The control parameters are listed in the preset descriptions.
